We were pleased to find Wood Storks hanging on the cross-dike along with one Brown Pelican who seemed out of place. Plenty of cormorants, egrets, and herons. We liked it so much there that we decided that our final sunrise walk would be there instead of the beach. When Shari heard about the place she decided to come with us and forgo an extra hour of sleep.
No new trip birds were added at this site. Our last trip bird came later on Saturday, on our final run through Ding Darling--a lone drake Hooded Merganser was our 117th species for the week.
