Piarco 4/2--GRAY-BREASTED MARTIN, RED-BREASTED MEADOWLARK

Before stopping off at the hotel, Kim made a quick spin around the surrounding grasslands (the hotel looks like Big House on the Prairie), where we quickly picked up a number of RED-BREASTED MEADOWLARKS (formerly called "blackbird") and flying in the gloaming, our first GRAY-BREASTED MARTIN. Quite a first half-day of birding; just a taste of what was to come.
